Purpose of Role:
The role holder provides Virtualization design (i.e. Openstack), implementation and support to help customers Server/Storage Virtualization functionality to achieve their business goals. Activities will include architecture assessment, design, deployment, support. The role holder will be "Cisco‘s face to the customer as a trusted adviser", working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment as a visible contributor delivering our commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
· Advanced Services NCEs align and drive focused deliverables with customer‘s business strategy and objectives. NCEs will leverage and generate applicable technical, best practices and white papers.
· Performs and drives Server/Storage Virtualization architectural (i.e. Openstack), design and integration engineering for complex infrastructure solutions. NCEs identify and document Storage/Server Virtualization design and architecture best practices.
· Build simulated infrastructure in test labs to resolve problems and compatibility issues. Provides ad hoc systems/product training.
· Typical Scenario:
5G Service Provider using full virtualization cloud infrastructure include mobile core, nfvi, application, BSS/OSS, etc. which on top of Openstack, with fully automation.
The Openstack engineer need build whole cloud infrastructure with automation.
Support Region:
· DC Network NCE need support APJC region (China, ANZ, ASEAN, Japan, etc.)
Skills/Experience:
· 5 years+ relevant experience in Storage Network/Server engineering
· 3 years+ relevant experience in Storage Network/Server project delivery
· Familiar with Operation System: Windows, Linux, etc.
· Familiar with Openstack (special for Redhat OSP, etc.)
· Fluency in English
Below skills are considered as preference:
· Fluency in Japanese Language
· Familiar with Mobile Core solution (EPC)
· Familiar with NFVi solution
· Familiar with virtualization network (openstack neutron)
· Familiar with Docker solution (K8s)
